# Colour Palettes

Colour palettes include both predefined and customised options and can be applied to either fill or stroke. Predefined palettes comes in diverging, sequential and qualitative types.

To choose a palette:

1. Expand the layer pane and click on the colour bar from either filled colour or stroke colour section. Click on the three dots to select the field to colour by.

To choose a custom palette, toggle on the custom palette button. Click on each colour to pick a new colour either by clicking on the colour picker or inputting HEX/RGB values. Colours steps can be added, removed or shuffled.

Your colour is applied to your map as soon as you select the predefined palette or confirm the choices of customised colours.

The default colour ranges can be modified by enabling the Custom Domain option.
