# Layer Attributes

| Colour/Colour based on | Choose the colour of your layer or assign colour based on a field from your dataset(s). | All layers |
| ---------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Radius/Radius based on | Change the radius of points or assign radius values based on a field from your dataset(s). | GeoJSON, Difference, Pie Chart |
| Opacity                            | Change the transparency of a layer. 1 = opaque, 0 = invisible.                                                                                            | All layers                              |
| Radius range | Set a lower and upper threshold for projected radius size. | GeoJSON, Difference, Pie Chart |
| Stroke width/stroke width based on | Change the thickness of lines and arcs, or assign a width based on a field from your dataset(s). | GeoJSON, Difference, Origin-Destination |
| Stroke width range | Set a lower and upper threshold for projected stroke width. | GeoJSON, Difference, Origin-Destination |
| Colour Palette | Choose from multiple, predefined or customized colour palettes to apply to your layer. | All layers |
| Colour Scale | Choose either a quantile or quantized colour scale. A quantile colour scale is determined by rank, while a quantized colour scale is determined by value. | All layers |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.mobilitylab.co.nz/user-guide/layer-attributes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
